Special Education and Curriculum & Instruction
If you are currently certified in General Special Education, Emotionally Disturbed, Learning Disabilities, Mental Retardation or Reading Specialist, and you earned your certification by completing a post-baccalaureate program at Keene State College or Granite State College, you may be awarded up to 24 credits into KSC’s 36 credit Master of Education: Special Education or Master of Education: Curriculum & Instruction program. The following factors will be considered in the final determination of the total number of transfer credits awarded by KSC:
- KSC may award up to 24 credits if your bachelor’s degree was completed prior to beginning the SETT or Reading Specialist programs at GSC/CLL.
- Any work and/or credits that were used to complete a bachelor’s degree at GSC/CLL will not be transferable toward a M.Ed. at KSC.
- A minimum of 18 post-baccalaureate credits must have been completed at GSC/CLL. No module credits will be transferable.
- If you completed the GSC/CLL SETT or reading specialist programs prior to January 2004, you may receive less than 24 credits.
- Transfer credits will not be posted to the KSC transcript until all requirements of the Master of Education degree have been met.
If you qualify for this program, Keene State College will transfer your credits free of charge.
